The Marion County Jail II is a truly unique project and the first of its kind in Indiana. The Jail II is an annex facility to the existing Marion County Jail that houses 670 inmates in 83 double-occupancy cells on the fourth floor of the facility, 480 dormitory beds on the second and third levels of the facility, and 23 segregation and isolation cells on the first floor. The facility was the site of the former Cole Motor Works and is currently on the National Register of Historic Preservation, which made the renovation of this facility into a jail function even more unique.
