The Jackson County Judicial Center is a new building that will house four courtrooms, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Clerk’s Office. The Judicial Center will connect to an existing Annex building containing office spaces pertaining to the court functions and implement a higher level of security. The site topography provides opportunity for a sally port in the basement with secure circulation through the core of the building which will eliminate any interaction with detainees while in the building. The exterior has a grand entry incorporating historical elements that relate to the existing courthouse while stepping down in scale and finishes near the connection to the Annex building. The construction cost was $8 M and the project was 35,000 sf.
